From the shadowy figures of Appalachian folklore to the sleek lines of futuristic robots, this exhibit celebrates the diversity of mythical and imagined beings. It also celebrates the wealth of talented regional artists who have taken a deep dive into the rich tapestry of Appalachian cryptozoology, envisioned fantastical creatures of their own design, or projected the mechanical monsters of tomorrow. Join us for an extraordinary exploration of the mysterious and the marvelous. You’ll be impressed by the diversity of creatures and cryptids that dwell within our region’s collective imagination.

Please also join us for an opening reception on October 3rd from 6-8 PM in the gallery. Enjoy light refreshments and an opportunity to meet some of the artists whose work is on display.
