Creating a detailed digital archive of your work can help with your artistry and boost your sales. We’ll show you how!

Register for either in-person or online attendance.

With just a few minutes’ work documenting each piece of your art, you can set yourself up for success in a number of important ways. Over the years. your archive will tell the full story of who you are as an artist and how you have evolved.

There are business advantages, too. An archive can help if there’s ever a copyright issue. You’ll be able to quickly pull important information regarding sales to collectors, and look up which pieces have been exhibited publicly and which pieces are in (or have sold in) galleries. You can track the financial value of your work and how it grows over time.

You’ll receive a pre-class worksheet that will help you make the most of the meeting. Katie Carey ceramic artist and Head of Content for Artwork Archive, will lead us through a PowerPoint that helps demystify the process of archiving your work. She’ll share information that’s useful for those who choose to use an online service or those who prefer to create their own D-I-Y archives. If you’ve ever read the Artwork Archive newsletter, you know that it’s packed with great information–including tips, tricks, and opportunities for artists. Katie is the mastermind behind that excellent content. She will be joined by Cassidy Cole, a painter who is also a Product Educator for Artwork Archive. Cassidy will give a quick demo for us so that we can see how their service might work for you.

Bring your questions! As always with our Arts@Work Series classes, we will leave time at the end for a Q&A session.

DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED BUT NOT REQUIRED. We’re a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and we reinvest all money collected from fees and donations back into serving creatives in our region. The suggested donation for this class is $10-$20. Please donate what you feel you can afford, but if you can’t, we completely understand. Please join us anyhow!

Create Appalachia strives to make the our region a better place to live and work by supporting innovation and entrepreneurship centered around the arts and creativity.
