Create Appalachia is proud to announce the return of their Arts@Work series of workshops designed to help entrepreneurial and self-employed artists and makers develop professional skills such as marketing, business communication and promotion, pricing, and client relations. Our classes feature interactive discussions with experienced instructors, and many include assignments and critique, and optional one-on-one consultation. Arts@Work is a professional development workshop series established in 2016 to provide professional development for artists and makers in the Appalachian Highlands. Topics include marketing, business communication and promotion, pricing, and client relations. The program also focuses on negotiation skills, entrepreneurship, and practical legal and ethical issues, including codes of fair practice for the arts. The workshops benefit small creative businesses, freelancers, and working fine artists and artisans, no matter their demographic. In this particularly challenging time, we seek to provide workshops that will help these businesses stay afloat and even thrive.
Create Appalachia is grateful for a generous grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission that allows us to offer the Arts@Work 101 Series.
